The National Training Council

The National Training Council is a Statutory Office under the Ministry. The NTC supervises and manages the implementation of the National Training Policy and makes recommendation to NEC any issue related to training. It establishes, preserves and improves standards of training fitting to the requirements of the country. Furthermore, the NTC formulates and publishes guidelines on human resource requirements.

Functional Responsibilities

The functional responsibilities of the National Training Council are to:
• foster the comprehensive development of training in relation to the needs and resources of the
country;
• foster the coordination of training institution for effective use of available resources;
• ensure trainings are geared towards productivity and work force capacity building;
• increase the quality and delivery of all forms for training;
• enhance productivity in all sectors of the economy though integrated skills training;
• establish, preserve and improve standards of training provided by institutions, employers and government agencies;
• manage and review the services provided by the National Training Council; and
• augment and support the role and function of Department of Higher Education, Research Science and Technology.
