Legal Mandate
The Department is mandated to administer labour, employment and industrial relations services throughout the country as specified under various key legislations such as the Employment Act 1978, the Industrial Relations Act 1962, the Industrial Organization Act 1963, and the Industrial Safety, Health and Welfare Act 1965.
